my 3.0 is finally gettin tired after 198,000 miles, she idles real weird and ticks and eats all my radiator coolant. (i dont mean blown head gasket either)

well i dont want the 4.0, i know is a good motor but everyone else has one in there ranger. soo i want to build a 3.0 and custom mount a turbo or turbo's underneath the body.

i was reading the tech section on rebuilding the 3.0 but id like to pick a year that already has a built motor with all the strong stuff, i may put harder valve spring in and change the intake(unless i get one with a composite intake already) so the inducing of 10 psi dosent ruin things.

all suggestion wil be greatly appreciated! :icon_hornsup:

tired at under 200k!!!!!!! i got 380 outa my 3.0 1991 :) and if your looking for forged pistions and such aint gonna happen in a stocker other than minor changes along the years most the guts stayed the same best goin to... toms v6 for the parts

but a 3.0 with head studs can runn.... ohhh 8 psi on a stock( with headers) set up

i here somewhere these whipple supercharges for 3.0's but whipple nolonger makes them

im not lookin to completely build one but just minor things to handle some boost, since the turbo is going to be mounted on the exhaust line it wont put out too much boost but enough to finish out my fourth gear on the dirt. right now full gas in fourth the rpms start dropping and its annoying to have to downshift constantly.

but im also introducing a new mazda m5r1 to the mix soo it should be much better.

ill just do some research on it

but if i get an ARP head bolt kit, the motor should be able to handle 10 or more psi right?
