Bench bleeding master cylinder

Is this really that important? I put new one on without bench bleeding and pedal goes straight to the floor. Is this due to not bench bleeding?
 
Yup bench bleeding removes all the air from the master cylinder. It is almost impossible to do that with it in the car. Have you bleed the rest of the system?
 
well I tried to bleed it without bench bleeding it and couldn't. The pedal goes to the floor. so I woont be pushing any air out.
 
it makes it 100xs easier to bleed the rest of the system
 
Well then you should take it back out and bench bleed it.
