I've been following this forum since I bought my truck in 2006, but haven't had a reason to post yet. Thanks everyone for having such detailed explanations. Now I have an issue with my transfer case, so I thought I'd lay out some information about my truck here first, so I don't come across as a complete boner. It has been a daily driver mainly, but I take it our a few times a year to see mud, sand, snow and rock. I plan on keeping her forever.

2006 - Purchased from a DC area ford dealer with 60K. Had a single owner, perfect condition and came with a locking truck box. Day 1 - Driver's seatbelt sensor goes bad. Day 2 - Shitty arm rest cracks in half, threw it out because a repair kit didn't exist at the time.

2007 - Hit a stump on the drivers side driving through tall grass, tweaked the frame... cracked something in the engine compartment which I can't remember now... coolant housing?. Drivers door never closed right. Power steering pump leaks on occasion and can't ever get the alignment right.
- Blew the rear speakers, so I upgraded everything and put in a Double-Din Alpine receiver and wired switches to bypass the parking brake sensor. Painted housing black because it was the only grey piece in the truck.

2008
- Clipped a sewer cap on a construction site, bashed drivers side Lower Control arm pretty nicely, haven't replaced this since the alignment is effed anyways. The plan *was* to upgrade to a Dixon Bros LT kit so I just rotated the tires often. *But this kit seems unavailable now.
- Engine began to idle wildly when coming to a stop, all signs pointing to a vacuum leak. Still haven't found the cause, replaced MAF, IAC, PCV, respective lines... O2 Sensors test ok.
- Put in an Interstate Battery, lasted 5+ years!

2009-2010
- Replaced spark plugs at 100k. Started to hear a whine during clutch engagement in cold weather, assumed it was the throwout bearing.
-Wheels became obnoxiously loud at 45mph, blamed it on the tires and alignment. Drove Cross Country, twice... with a trailer despite these warnings.

2012
- Leak in Rear Passenger side Brake Cylinder, replaced
- Leak in Clutch Master Cylinder, replaced (unmount the fuse box, save your knuckles)
- Drivers Side Hub started to scrape, replaced with new Moog Hub. Vibration at 45mph suddenly disappeared!
- Replaced Rear pinion bearing and seal. This was a bitch.
- Parking brake stopped releasing all the way, new drum brake hardware on both sides, only sort of fixed the issue.
- Clipped a tree and replaced the DS mirror with a cheaper version, which shakes at high speed.
- Replaced Power Mirror switch.

2013
- Interstate battery died. Had to buy a DieHard in a fix.
- Bought a second car! Finally, I could work on the truck's issues!
- New serpentine belt, cleaned pulleys. Cold weather whine went away, then came back.
- Replaced shitty armrest with new shitty armrest.
- Re-aligned driver's door so it now closes correctly.
- New DS parking brake cable. The old one mushroomed at the frame connection; this fixed parking brake release issue.
- At 165K Throwout bearing was so bad that the clutch wouldn't release without rev-matching. Replaced this and installed new slave, clutch, flywheel and all gaskets/seals, fluids. (Removing the Y-Pipe and the Starter were a bitch) Cold weather whine fixed!
- Control arm bushings are starting to crack... blech.

I stay regular on the maintenance, all of the work was done myself, usually at night, in the winter on a gravel driveway... with the exception of the coolant housing? or whatever I crack initially.

Thanks for having me!

Welcome to TRS. Sounds like you were capable of doing the fixes, hopefully we helped out....and will again.
