Hi, sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum. Mods, feel free to move, if necessary.

I have a 2004 Ranger super cab. The front edge of the bed floor is shot and is only being held together by the spray on liner. So, while I search for a decent used bed, I figure I'll slap a used bed liner in so I don't put my foot thru the bed floor, at some point.

Unfortunately, used liners are pretty rare in my neck-of-the-woods (Chicago-land). So, does anyone one know if liners are "ambiguous" enough, when they were made, to fit different generations of Ranger beds? I've found one out of a 2nd Gen Ranger ('95). It's an over-the-rail liner. I was wondering if that might work.

TIA, Dave.

as long as its the right bed-length liner for the bed it should work, supercabs all have shortbeds, only reg cabs could be had with the longbed. shortbed-6’ , longbed-7’. while a stepside is also a 6’ box im not certian if a liner from a stlyeside box would work in a stepside, im thinking it wont though as a stepside would be a little narrower.

Morning Dave:

There are 3 liners for '93+ Rangers: 6' styleside - 80% of market, 6' flareside (aka stepside) - 19.999% of market & 7' styleside - rest of market.

So, long as your '04 and the '95 have the same length/style of box, you should be in business. The correct length box from a '11 will bolt on any '93-11 Ranger and the panel lines will look correct.* Older boxes physically bolt on, but the lines aren't right.
* '93 box would bolt onto anything up to an '11, but odds of finding a perfect older box are slimmer

A flareside liner has more/less straight sides, while the styleside one curves to cover the fenders. While you can load the flareside one in a styleside, I wouldn't consider it "fitting". The styleside one doesn't load in the flareside.

Thanks guys. The liner is for a 7 foot bed. With the super cab and 6 foot bed, it won't work. Shoot. I'll keep looking. :(

shortbeds are more common then lonbeds, any nearby junkyards you could check in with? wish you were closer, I have a shortbed liner and both my ranger & ranger trailer are longbeds.

Most of the close junkyards no longer allow you to be in the yard. And, the ones that do, don't have a very good selection. I've seen a few decent beds on Craigslist and FB Marketplace. But, they're very expensive or they have some rot or the seller isn't motivated enough to provide more pics. I'll just have to be patient. Thanks for the offer tho. 👍
