bad news :(

i was driving to work today and noticed that i had to hit the breaks much harder to make a normal stop and looked down and noticed my od light flashing
when i got to work i pulled out the code reader and got a p0733 wich is a incorrect 3rd gear ratio.

its a 2002 5r55e behind a 4.0 with 130k on it, is it time for a rebuild or do you think i can get away with changing the oil and fixing the vavle body. i have no trans experience so im a little weary about pulling a valve body out of my truck and drilling holes.

can i get your opinions please. or should i go to a JY and just get a donor with less mile.

I would reset the computer and clear the codes and see if it comes back. I wouldn't worry about it until it starts to actually lose gears.

Does it do anything to make you think it's going out on you? Hows the level?

its got enough fluid in it.

it shifts weird from second to third, sometimes it slams from 2nd to third (only when its cold), but it always acted normal untill this morning, would downshift for engine breaking and shift at decent point. it acted normal until i cleared the dtc

i would clear the codes and not worry about it yet...
