the grey-t escape
Well I did it, hopefully haven’t damaged anything, was topping off my escspe auto transmission & just happened to notice Ive been putting the wrong stuff in it. Its been shifting fine- but for how long? The bottle says mercon but theres no “LV”. damn. Im not sure how much Ive put in over the last 10 months, maybe 4Qts? Guess all I can do is get the right stuff & dump out what I can then keep adding LV as needed since it leaks out the left side cv shaft. Ive got a new seal but haven’t had time to replace it. Think there is a bushing in the case that needs replacing too, which means tools I dont have plus the needed bushing.

I would be cheaper to pay someone to replace the seal than it would be to rebuild the transmission if the seal leak gets a lot worse and dumps the fluid. Not to mention the cost of Mercon LV, I bought it at the dealer for $7.50/qt at employee prices.
