Hi all, rebuilding my 2.8 and I have a 480 Autolite off a 65 mustang 289 4 barrel stock. Is this too much for the offy manifold combo, or should I stick to a Holley 390 cfm? Thanks, Matt
From I remember way back, in a perfect world the 2.8 can put out 373 CFM a minute at like 7,000rpm or so. I would not go bigger then the 390 myself. If the carb is to big then it wont draw fuel in properly or atimize it and it will run like poo.
ok. Kinda what i thought...thank you! Since the heads on a 2.9 flow so much better than a 2.8, how much power can you build with a 2.9 with say World products heads to get rid of their main problem? Matt
