So wanting to swap out auto hubs to manual ones, will model 28 manual hubs work on model 35? I know I have to swap out the nut assemble...

D-28 hubs do not work on D-35. Entirely different sizes. Used to be you could get Jeep D-35 hubs but I don’t know what the hub availability is currently.

AVM has picked up where Warn dropped the ball. AVM pt# 465HP and 465XP replace Warn pt# 29071 and 37780 respectively.

I recently bought a pair of the 465XP... The hub body is steel and seems to be of decent quality, though I haven't yet put them to any real tests.
AVM includes a set of spindle nuts & locking washers with the hubs, so no separate purchase is needed if converting from auto hubs.

Really... a steel hub body?!? That would be a huge upgrade over pot metal.

Where'd you get them at?

The body on the Warn 37780 hubs may not have been steel, but they still were very good quality (the older 29071 hubs, pre 2010 or so I'm guessing, were junk). But yeah, neither no longer made.

I got the AVMs off Ebay. Unfortunately it seems the seller there has ended the listing (maybe try messaging him if you got an Ebay acct?)

I'm just gonna say it...

Sounds like a good excuse for an axle swap/upgrade.

All these fine people throwing out there old hubs, I'd sure like to catch a couple of em!

If I had some to throw out, you could have them. I never owned a TTB Ranger, not for lack of wanting one. Closest I ever came was my dad's '90 BII and it was still running the original auto hubs the last time I saw it, maybe around 2010. Still wish I'd gotten my hands on it when he sold it.

I messaged the eBay seller who had those hubs listed and the response I got was, they are not available until later this year.

It just crossed my mind there should be a couple hubs on my Explorer.
I've never even looked at them, not sure what they look like inside
