Anyone up for a hardcore 3.0 build?

bttt. pix coming! waiting on the cam to come back and I can make the pushrods and check PTVC. BTW, I can't seem to find the info on doing the composite intake swap. IIRC the tps needs rewiring

Cool! Glad it's still being worked on.

As an old Hot Rodder I have built many engines for speed but have done a few for MPG...torque. A 40 Ford coupe with 289 .030 over, truck cam making max torque at 2200 rpm, an aluminum 4bbl intake made to accept an Autolite 2100 2bbl, electric fuel pump, flex fan, Mallory dual point, Accel coil, big wires (7mm?), balanced, dual glass-packs, stock heads polished, big car flywheel in front of a 303 three speed, 2.79 rear, 29.5" rear 70 series radials and skinny fronts plus it was low on a 3" dropped axle. About 250 HP and 24 MPG highway without overdrive. Your plans look like they will work great. Looking forward to the 3.0 build as mine needs work at 226K. Good luck.

it's built and put in today. haven't gotten it running yet. fell down yesterday after slipping in spilled trans fluid and broke my arm. expect pics and details soon!

Ouch, 1 wife and 1 broken arm.

Quite the project you got there mister.

Hope it all gets brighter soon!

well, the loss of wife was worth it. broken arm is ok. it wasn't that terrible.

it does run, and runs very well. all except the damn valvetrain. sounds like it's got a solid roller in it. Perhaps the late model aluminum covers were a bad idea with the LS rockers. Seems to get better with driving, but since i'm not driving it i'm itchy. and so far only 50-60 miles on it. could also just be a silly exhaust leak. stethescope indicates vt noise but not rockers falling off noise.

more later.
