Has anyone who bought a brand new 2000 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 with the manual transmission, receive a leather shift knob from the factory? Mine has the leather steering wheel option and was a factory order with an odd combination of options. So odd that I may have a 1 of 1 truck as I've never seen another one with the same options. The knob I had seemed to be a leather Mustang type of knob but the Mustang uses a screw on knob and our Rangers are a splined press fit. My original knob's leather wore through while under warranty and the dealer said he could not order a leather knob and replaced it with the normal rubber knob commonly available. They kept the original knob and I can now kick myself for allowing them to keep it. I was never happy with the fell of the replacement knob because of the round shape and feel and always missed the original knob--Luckily I found an aftermarket replacement almost like the original. I have searched extensively and cannot even find a picture of a 2000 model with the leather knob, anywhere. I'd love to hear from anyone else who received this knob or has pictures of it? Thanks
