Anyone put a 8.8 mini spool in a 7.5?

I was looking for a mini spool for my 7.5 and didn't come up with anything but found one for a 8.8 as cheap as $52 shipped. I did find on a mustang site a guy got a 8.8 spool to fit in his 7.5 with some grinding on the spool and was curious if anyone here has done this? and how hard was it to do (modify) Or even better, does anyone know where I can find a 7.5 mini spool? I only use the truck off road and I'm pretty easy on it, so strength really isn't a concern for me. It shouldn't matter but it's for an '84 ranger 4x4 with a 2.8, 4 speed, and 33's with the stock 3.54 gears. thanks for any info.

Well, I bought an 8.8 spool and got it to work in my 7.5. Unfortunately, It didn't even cross my mind until it was to late to take pictures of how I modified it, but I messed up the first one so I had to buy a 2nd but it works great. I did find a guy selling them for $43 so it wasn't to bad but since I couldn't find any info on what and how much to modify it, it took me a good while to do.
