Hello everyone, again... I have a 94 2wd 4.0 ranger 5spd and the tranny is being pulled to have a new gasket installed so I was wondering what else should I look at and replace while I am doing this. Clutch, slave, etc. Any suggestions since I am already gonna have it down?

the 3 plugs at the top, if they are rubber and leaking pull them out and coat with RTV then put them back in.

clean the oil out of the holes and dry very well or it won't work.

its a good idea to replace the rear output shaft seal and the engine's rear main seal also

The slaves on these transmissions don't like to be put back in, so yeah, do that while it's out, or it will probably be back out soon.

A clutch isn't a bad idea too if it's been a while. Clutches are cheap. Labor to pull the trans isn't.

Having never done this before with average to above skills, meaning I have never started a task and not successfully completed it like timing belt, u joints, brakes, etc. Do you think this is a project that can be done or should I just take it in? I want to put a new gasket it along with possibilities of other things. Thanks.
