my company that i work for. Vip parts tires and service based out of lewiston maine just got bought out by O'reilly auto parts.

So tell me. any good bennys working for this company? also is there product any good? how do they treat there employees? also do you get paid by weekly or ever week? All I was told is starting January 1st vip will be called O'reilly. Also how do treat there truck drivers?

any thing would help

O'Reilly is quite expensive compared to kragan and Autozone. It's on par with Pep Boys, and they should generally treat everyone well, and pay decently. I've heard AutoZone pays like crap, though.

I know a TRS guy that works at a local one. Not sure if he likes it or not but I spend quite a bit of money there

you get paid by weekly up here at the one we have so i figure it would be the same for u

I have a couple friends that have worked for O'Reilly's for a couple years and they like it enough. One's a manager and the other is a driver, I think they both make about $10/hr or so. I know you can purchase insurance through company but you have to work so many hours to be eligible and it's also fairly expensive.

Uhhh.... 10 dollars an hour for a management position?

No thanks.

It's more like "management." There's still a store manager and district manager, etc, above him. The schedule is flexible enough he can work it around school and he gets parts at cost which has saved him a ton.

Ahh, OK. I thought you meant he managed a store for 10 bucks an hour. As many idiots you have to deal with every day, that would not be very good compensation.

Former RSS from store #1824 here. Work for the company for 3 years. They are the walmart of the auto parts stores. My store had a manager who wasn't really good management material. Then they wanted me to take on more responsible with no increase of pay. I was given the chance this last summer to work for the local ford dealer and I jumped at it. Took a little cut in pay but so worth not having to put up with all the corporate bull crap.

Hope your store's new district manager isn't a jerk like mine was.

When I started with Oreilly Auto back in 2009 I only made $7.50/hr fulltime starting. After I was trained in and stuff I was only bumped up to $9.50/hr. When I left this summer I was making $9.80/hr. For management position it was pretty horse sh!t. I do like working for Ford alot better. Granted I'm only making $9.00 and hour right now, but I have room for advancement, and raises in the future. Plus Mon-Fri is really nice also.

Since they are so big they can afford to not pay people a decent wage... it's the American way...
