Never used it in a Ranger....

I did start putting it in my choptop though. It's a little on the narrow side and the design kind of puts the front posts in the way, but it works pretty decently. All the stuff is left long and most of it requires notching to fit together. I just used an angle grinder with a cutting disk and a flap wheel to get it fitted together. For the money, you can't beat it. I went with the 10-pt cage.

Thanks for the reply. Is there any other advice you could offer for a roll cage inperticular since ive never built one. I know how to weld and hve acess to a mig welder. I just want it to be right when i do it.

Do lots of research. There are different ways of tying the roll cage into the truck. IMO; Preferred for strength is welding or bolting to the frame. Welding to the floor with plate. Bolting to the floor with two different sized plates. There are other ways too depending on end use. RESEARCH.
Try pirate4x4, dezertrangers, OFN.com and other forums too. Check the different race sanctioning bodies for their tech rules.

Oh, did I say research?

Good luck,

Richard

The jegs kits are OK. I used one on a mustang I have. They are made of HREW tubing. And you have to cut and notch every tube. You're better off building your own. You could always buy the tools you need to build it and sell them when you're done. Or have the cage done by someone else. The jegs kit I wouldn't trust my life with without extra bracing either

How much material would it take to build a cage like this

And i plan on building a tube chassis of 2x3 tubing and tying the cage in to the frame like this and building my own floor pans after i weld the cage to the 2x3 tubing.
