Any interest in a core support replacement writeup?

I just did this job a couple months ago, didn't see if there was any writeup for it here or if you guys have some kind of tech article/FAQ sticky, but I'd be happy to do one if there was interest?

i have the original fenders for my truck....on my 4th core support and inners though.

might be a good idea if you have the details....there are several core support swaps and updates withing the forums though.

putting these sorts of things in a sticky is likely a good idea.

I could use some information on doing that but for a front end revamp. I am going to put a 92 grill and lights onto an 88 Ranger cab. So far, everything I see will line up and require a bit of remodeling of the older clip.

Biggest problem is rust on the body mounts to the frame. The long cross piece is what takes the biggest hit on mine because the rest of the clip is in pretty good shape for an old girl...or was it a transgender...maybe after the front end swap...

but, yes, by all means do the write up and I will recommend the post for tech article if it is done well enough...

yeah...you can swap them all from generation to generation, but the front frame horns and body mount areas will require attention.

but say i wanted a 04 front clip...mounting the core to suppor the lighting and grille is pretty easy, and then buy the bad ass conversion fenders to make it look good.

its tempting....but i like the gen 1 best and would rather put round glass headlights in it.....the 04 style has the cool looking roundy lights too though.

but straight replacement as simple as it is is definitely a process....and the way these critters like to rust up there , its gonna need doing more often these days.

Would I just do that as a new post?

Only bad thing is I didn't take a lot of pictures. I'm bad about that, I start working on something with the intent to document the process, then my hands get dirty and I'm just working away and realize I didn't really take any. I got a few though.

I just know I did a lot of googling on the process before starting and gathered information from various sources...plus learned a bit along the way.

I was just wondering as I searched "core support" and "radiator support" yesterday, just out of curiosity, and didn't see much about it, which was surprising because on my truck the thing was shot, and it has so many areas where water and gunk can accumulate it's no wonder they rust out.
