I hated those things, the fuel pump was under the left rear quarter and would condense moisture and freeze in the winter, they rusted along the body seams worse than an early Bronco, the Mazda engines ate timing chain rub strips and I'd spend the whole day twisted around the forward opening hood to change them. If they even thought about overheating the head gasket would blow and the head would warp, One I did needed to be planed .023" to get it flat and the cam would bind when rotated. We developed a quick head gasket test: open the hood, remove the radiator cap, get in, ROLL UP THE WINDOW, and start it. If the head gasket is blown coolant will rain on the windshield and roof, we figured out fast that the window should be up.
