Another "what's my truck worth?" thread

I would say worth it but anyone that KBB it is going to say nope. Personally for an 18 year old truck it looks great but its an 18 year old truck. 2500 is Private party for something like that so the trade in is a good offer.

I would expect around 3-3500 if you sell it privately. Just wait until the right buyer comes along

I would put it above what you want for it so when people talk you down on price they think they are getting a good deal but you still got what you want for it.

yeah, that only works on dumb people and teenagers.

I think their trade offer was fair. it's worth about 2500 on a quick sale. you might get 4 if you are willing to sit on it.

not trying to insult your truck or anything, it appears to be a nice truck, if I had any money I would offer you 3250 for it........ depending on in person inspection.

You don't think a teenager will be looking for a truck like this? It's a good deal on a strong little truck. Who wouldn't pass it up?

Not at the price he's asking. For the $4000 he's asking for on that craigslist link, you can get a truck in his area that's about 10 years old with right about 100,000 miles on it. It looks good for it's age, but you can get something 8 years newer with 30,000 miles less in decent to good condition for the same money. How do I know? I just bought a 2001 Ranger with 82,000 miles for $3800 in the Chicago area his truck is listed in. And mine wasn't even the best deal out there.

I love his truck. If you lived closer, and put the ad up 2 weeks ago before I bought my ranger, I would buy it. not for 4 of course.

Huh, I always post my vehicles up for at least 4-500 more than I expect. You might not be a dumb teenager, but almost everyone I deal with on CL understands you offer a little less than posted. Unless they say FIRM. And then you just move along. Those posts never sell for their asking price and they stay up for months anyways.

Yeah I listed it expecting to sell it to a high schooler for 3k-3500 or if not, I'll just trade it in when I find the right big truck because I know any car lot around here is gonna toss it on the busiest corner of their lot for $4995 and sell it in a week.

It's a 19 year old truck so the trade in offer was very fair. They'll sell it at auction anyway because of the age.
