I have searched for hours and can't figure out which coil spring is softer. I have a D code on my 99 3.0 auto 2wd extended cab. Looking on rock auto it shows coil springs for D E, or 2 A C J. That means I should go with the 80660, but I want a little softer if I can. I just want to know which code had the softer springs. Can anyone answer this?
Which is a softer spring code for coils, D, E, 2, A, C, J? This is the only question I need answered.

If you go to Moog's website & search coil spring suspension for the front coils, bring up the specs for each coil set they produce & you'll discover that every one of their coils regardless of the application are the same spring rate, that means they are all the same stiffness. What IS different is the load rating for the given application, one given spring will be a different free length than the next one is depending on the trucks characteristics, but they are ALL the same installed height.

This seems to be a not too old thread to revive. I’ve been searching for spring codes as well. I got a set of fronts cause it seemed that everything was the same except capacity. I’m now searching for the rear and there are two arc options: 4 and 6 inch. It seems that this would be a good thing to get right. I’m pretty surprised that spring codes aren’t deciphered in the spring article.
