OK im the idiot that needs help my 87 B2 has a bad rear end it has 373 gears i have a friend 8 work with that has a 89 b2 parts truck with the same gear but has limited slip that i can have free but it has the strange rear drive shaft and i have the normal ujoint shaft what is involved in swap or can it even be done

they both should have a u joint on the axle end, the only thing is the 89 might have a big flange, its worth getting for free you can make it work, if your flange doesn't fit you can get a new one or grab one from a junk yard

Grab the free one and put whatever you need on it from your old one.

Should all be bolt-on, plug & play. I'm not aware of any differences in BII rear axles other than later ones having the ABS tone ring and sensor in them (I think '87-'90 axles).

And the dual-CV BII driveshaft has no u-joints, it's a CV at both ends.

you're cooking with fire as long as its not abs equipped (even then it can be worked around) lsd is nothing but a step in the proper direction and if the flanges dont match you can make it work with a little elbow grease. well worth the cost for the free rear end
