I've been looking for a 1" rear b2 bar for as long as I knew about it, and after over 5 years had given up finding one locally. I scrapped out a '97 f150 and saw the rear swaybar was real close to 1". I measured and it's actually 7/8", still much better than my stock '91 5/8' bar. However the frames are different widths, but nothing a little experimenting couldn't solve.

I needed to bring the arms in ~3" in each side. Into a buddies 20 ton press and with his help, be careful;

And after straightening;

A comparison of the two bars side by side;

And installed on my race truck;

There is a difference on how the end links attach to the bar. The 91 has an eye, the 97 has a stud. The arm lengths are the same and the bars attach to the rear in the same way. The rubber bushings seem to be the same other than bar diameter. There is a slight difference in bracketry but I just used the same 91 brackets that came with the truck. I don't use the same shock mounting anymore but it looks like there wouldn't be any clearance problems. The bar came from a 4.2/5-spd reg. cab shortbox. I haven't looked but I bet a true 1" rear bar [or bigger] could be found on a extended cab with a v-8. I hope this helps someone that has been looking for one of these bars.
Good luck,
Richard
