Hey all! This Ranger was used by a friend of mine who just got back from Afghanistan. This was a rental he used from March thru October. He originally got an Isuzu diesel but it puked it's guts less than a week into the rental. He said it was a pig power wise but would go anywhere he pointed it.

Just want to thank all the Veterans who are serving or have served and I'm glad Dave is back safe & sound!

I remember putting a Rip It in the bottom of a hooka once while I was deployed. Never again.

Kinda crazy to see a servicable battery in a newer vehicle... :shok:

Now why can't Ford replace our dying Ranger with this new breed of Ranger. And leave the DuraTorq engine in it as well. Diesel power, quad cab, 2 on the floor, go anywhere fun.

6 lug rims? weird. i noticed the old-school battery also, havent seen one you could add water to in years.

you running gel cells?

i can pop the caps on mine and add water.....

Most all conventional batteries today, you can still add distilled water to them. Only AGM and Gel types I have seen that you can't. You just gotta pop the top caps off instead of twisting a cap off.

It's true. About 80% of acid filled batteries have serviceable caps you just don't notice them. Batteries these days don't need service as long as the charging system is in working condition. They are more of a pressure relief if the battery explodes. You'll still get damage and a big mess but this way it's less than a sealed battery like European styles are.

Too bad we cant get those here in the states. I liked tho older army ones that came with the nice arb wraparound bull bar and warn winch, would have loved to bring one of them home:headbang:

HAHAHA those rip its were good stufff...
