Actually, those could make it worse, anything that can get dirt and moisture behind them are very hard to clean and keep dry behind.

There is no way to ensure a complete, water tight seal with stuff like that and even if you were able to, the adhesive will eventually break down and allow moisture and dirt in. How fast that would be will depend on the quality of the material and adhesive.

On the other hand, it will help protect the paint from chips and road spray like line paint and road tar that hasn't solidified yet.

Kind of a damned if you do and damned if you don't.

I've been thinking about spraying the undercarriage of my truck with flex seal.
Keyword there is " thinking " I haven't actually done it yet and I can't afford it anyways.
At least not now.

After reading some more stuff I think I retract the flex seal ideal.
It's rubberized I do believe and may cause more damage that can't be seen underneath the Rubber.

thank you all ! i was wondering about what if something got behind it! def gonna hold off for now on it, i have a local car wash i can run thru at anytime so if we get snow or salt or anyting i will just proactively run it thru that

Good choice.

Use something that stays wet, like fluid film or NHOU.

After 20 years of not getting my vehicles rustproofed because the factories got better at it, I learned the hard way that the liquid calcium chloride they started putting on the roads is a lot more corrosive and sticks to your vehicle like Velcro, so for the last 10 years I started taking them back to Ziebart before their first winter.
