So my abs light has been on and I’m getting down to the end of my list of things to fix. I already replaced the abs sensor, bled the brakes, checked fuses, and inspected everything I could think of.

I jumped on rock auto and ordered a control box thinking it would be an easy item to replace and see if it was the problem. However, I got it and can’t figure out where the hell it is on my truck. Google says by the battery but it’s clearly not there. Does my 1994 with rear ABS have a controller? Or is it just the hydraulic unit on the driver side frame rail by the header?

I have a similar problem as a result of replacing the brake light switch, which is down on the brake pedal under the dash. The controller on my Ranger is behind the radio on the right side, so you have to pull out the center section of the dash. Not really a bad job, just don't do it in a hurry.

The valve assembly should be on the inside of the driver side frame rail, just a few inches behind the front wheel area.

Isn't that the one they were saying recently to delete?

It is common to delete that. I haven't done it yet.
I had no clue for years, I just knew it didn't work, but I had no clue to bypass it entirely.
I did read somewhere a guy had taken it out and tapped around on it till he heard something happening inside and put it back and it worked. I even tried that to no avail.
I'm getting close to replacing my transmission so I need
Flare tool set and ?? any specifics? Anybody?
