I want to lift the rear of my pickup about an inch, I want a little bit of rake and right now with the t-bars where they are (stock spot, as far as i know) I'm not quite there. I think that the 1.5-2" that is "expected" out of an add-a-leaf is too much, do I have other options as far as a leaf spring that doesn't add as much lift, or when you put the AAL on, the 1.5" really isn't as much as you think?

Thanks

Personally I would go with a longer shackle.

I was reading on that too, but they all say about 2" of lift, I really don't want that much I'd much rather have just 1" of noticeable lift... enough to bring the rear end up some.

Belltech 6400s have 2 holes you can use, most use the longer one for about 1.75-2" of lift, but there is also one that should give you about 1" of lift.

make custom ones then! lol

if the belltech 6400 is a chevy 2 inch drop shackle, then wouldn't you want a chevy 1 inch drop shackle? to gain 1-1.5 instead of the 2-2.5 of the 6400...

or you could just do the add a leaf, but only add 1 overload leaf or something some. make a bastard pack till you find the height you need

Hmm... local auto stores carry them... would I need new shocks or any other modifications? Or Can I just put them on?

Beltechs or equivalent knock offs are 3" longer than the stockers. Since the shackle only lifts one side you have 3/2 = 1.5" of lift. Thats all mine gave me, and they are the true Beltechs. Any knock off should be close. 2" will never happen unless the shackle is physically 4" longer than the stocker.

If 1.5" is too much for you, I'd still run the Beltech shackles and throw a little weight in the bed too, then it will ride nice as well.

I highly suggest shackles for exactly what you are trying to accomplish as an AAL will stiffen it up quite a bit, and will be hard to find in 1" flavor.

However another option is to swap in some 4door explore leaf packs or bastardize your current pack by weaving a few of the expo ones in, but this is more work than the shackles....and will stiffen the ride.

Shackles won't change the ride characteristics (stiffen/soften ect).

Good luck!

are new shocks needed for the belltech? they aren't suppose to affect the ride but adding any lift seems it would alter the ride but maybe not enough to notice?

Short answer is no, and not really.

Stock rear shocks can be used up to 3.5" of lift.
