I am swapping over my 89 bronco II from auto to manual. The old A4ld is on its last leg. ive got everything to do the swap except for the manual computer, and ill be picking it up this weekend. Do I need the wiring harness from the donor 5sp BroncoII? Also, will I still be able to use my electric transfer case? I have a manual one too, just wondering if I could keep the buttons on the dash functioning. Thanks for the help.

You can use which ever transfer case you want. I'd go manual myself though.

You don't need the 5-speed harness, but if you don't use it there are some wires to splice.

Which wires would need splicing? What functions would be bypassed by the splices? I know the plugs are different on the tranny. Thanks for the reply and the help.

Can't remember the exact color but grab a piece of wire and on the auto trans plug put it inside the holes until it works. You'll have to try several combinations until it works. Just grab a buddy and have him try to start it with the clutch pressed. Once you found the right wires cut and solder them together. Super simple.

Alright thanks adsm08 and chrwilkins30 for the help! I love this site.

The pink wire needs spliced into the red/blue one on the round trans plug to complete the start circuit and bypass the park/neutral switch from the auto trans.

The you have to put the pink/orange and black/pink wires in an appropriate plug and hook it to the new trans so you have backup lights.

No need for me to splice anymore I found the entire connecting wire that in just going to plug up to the new tranny.
