A4ld to fm145

[ranger2.9]

I have a few question on a a4ld to fm145 swap on a 87 ranger 4x4 2.9.
I have found conflictin answers searching so far.
1) do i need to move the crossmember or is it a different crossmember altogether?
2)with my driveshafts work?

1) Yes, you need to move the crossmember.
2) No

An FM146 or a M5OD would use the same length driveshafts and keep the crossmember in the same spot.

I hate to hear that! Well hopefully i can find the right driveshafts at the junkyard this weekend.
