a4ld shift kit

does anyone know who makes a shift kit for the a4ld and what it makes the transmission capable of? also if theres a manual valve body upgrade?

performance auto based out of PA is pretty good, don't have thier link here it's on my work computer, but thye got thier stuff together for the A4LD if your seriously considering keeping it, alot like ot think of it as the weak link, but with some TLC it's not to bad. I'm probably going manual, but still searching as my seals went out in my A4LD.

Performance auto has Built trannys for 1895, and then they have servo's, shift kit, etc, etc. for them, good guys to talk to and through my Weeks of searching, have established they ahve a Very good name and Reputation on the forums.

I have a TransGo shift kit in my 91 A4LD. Best thing you can do for the transmission IMHO.

Any time you can firm up shifts it will improve and extend transmission life.

Thanks that site looks awesome. Once I get some money I'm gonna build it up. I know they say a 5 speed is better but in Atlanta traffic it's just not worth it right now
