A Diesel engine thought i had.

Older MB diesel engines are one (relatively) common option. The 603 series made more than enough power for a decent RBV swap. Bobby's done a GM 6.5, and others have put in the 4BT. There are plenty of options that would work better than converting a gas engine.

As far as a Mercedes diesel, my money would be on the OM617.952, most commonly found in the 300 series from 81-85.

Hello

The 350 diesel was a complete failure. Popped injectors, popped head bolts, blew head gaskets more than the 6.0s. Absolute disaster. What you are suggesting here is roughly the same idea.

Also add cranks snapping into 2 parts. My dads caddy did that.
