Most epoxies can be painted over within 5 days...after that you need to scuff before painting. So, theoretically you can shoot an epoxy sealer and you should be good for the winter, but you will have some prep work come spring.

As for wetsanding: you shouldn't really need to do that until your clearcoat is on...Most primers only need to be blocked down to 400 dry before basecoat application.

Thanks bud! I appreciate the help. There's a lot to learn and its my first time.

Im also lucky enough to have a dad thats painted many cars and really taught me the ropes on cars.

Well shoot...I'd listen to him before listening to me!

I take advice anywhere i can get it! My old man used to build hot rods when i was a kid.

Out of curiosity, where will you be painting...garage, driveway? Just wondering why you're waiting until spring to paint. I'm from the northeast originally (vermont), but am thinking you might have some good weather days thru mid October...?

Well... Right now, No money or time. Thats why im selling things here and there to make it happen. I need to find doors, a fender, a tailgate and a few other things. Plus i need to do radius arm bushings and a few other odds and ends in the suspension before they get worse. I already own the suspension parts.

Doing it by November or so could totally happen. I plan to paint in my garage. To get the best results, im relying on 70 degrees and low humidity. I have a heater but it eats propane like you wouldn't believe. 6 months is more of a worse case scenario.

Ah ok yeah so you've got enough to keep you busy!!

Yep. Not to mention the previous owner traps. I dont trust a few key areas on the truck... Like the gutters above the doors. They look bondo'd on top. If its like anything else, theres rust under there.

Peacemeal = what I serve my wife after an argument :D

Piecemeal = characterized by unsystematic partial measures taken over a period of time.

"the village is slowly being killed off by piecemeal development"

synonyms: a little at a time, piece by piece, bit by bit, gradually, slowly, in

The truck is starting to look good. And I agree with the above, btw.

Thanks!

And yeah i get it, i used the wrong peace / piece, lol. Im usually so good about such things...
