Can anybody wade in on this one plz? Possible to fit the above exhaust for a 98+ Ranger onto a '94?

(supercab, 2wd)

the mid pipe may be the wrong length (due to a 98's different cat setup). bust out the tape measure and see what happens. other than that it should fit.

Well, it's on EBAY, I don't actually have the exhaust.

Seller stated that he does pickup only, I tried to sweet-talk him into shipping it, no reply to my emails, so I take that as a NO. :(

if you dont have the exhaust yet, why not just buy one that fits your truck?

Because the one pictured was (barely) used and opening bid on EBAY was $25.00

But it got bid up, and the seller never responded to my query regarding shipping, and the auction is over.

I don't NEED an exhaust, my stock exhaust is in fine shape, and it's kinda hard to justify to She Who Must Be Obeyed that I'm buying a new $500 plus exhaust........

for it to cost $500 it would have to be made of unobtainium.

my entire exhaust (2" thick walled aluminized steel pipe, mendral bends, 2 aluminized glass packs, 2 flair-type flange fittings, hangers, and installation) was $200 installed by a shop. i would think you could have a pretty decent setup installed for $150 at the very most.

or just keep an eye out on e-bay for a system that fits your truck :icon_thumby:

We in the GWN pay thru the nose, regardless of the parity in the dollar recently.

Most searching I do on the internet yeilds pricing of ~$435 for a Magnaflow exhaust for a Ranger, then there's shipping, duty, etc.

If I take it to a shop here, the friggin shop labour rates are astronomical (Alberta is booming, wages are way up), I'm sure it would come out near the same.

One can always ask though. I'll probably get an estimate from a couple of local shops, though there's not much on offer in this small town of 9,000.

KAL tire would probably be my best bet.......

ahh, didnt notice you were from the north :icon_thumby:

still, exhaust shop fees are usually not quite as high as repair shop fees...so maybe you'll get lucky.

i never noticed how expensive magnaflow kits were..that seems a little rediculous. i dont have a lot of experience with pre-fab exhaust kits, but i know the one magnaflow kit we tried to install on a late 90's model mustang had a horrible fit and finish...so much so that we had to tell the customer he had to send it back because it just would not fit without rubbing. he ordered a flowmaster kit per our mustang guys suggestion and it was in in 10 minutes.
