I have a 1991 B2600i 4x4 5 speed that has a locked up motor. I can get a wrecked 98 ranger with a 4.0 for less then it would cost to rebuild my motor, my question is can I get an adapter for the 4.0 to bolt up to my tranny and how hard is the swap? Not that i'm concerned about the difficulty because i'm very mechanically inclined but just wanting some input from others that have done this swap.
Thanks.
The 98 ranger is also a single cab 4x4 but is auto.

Simple answer is no!!
Nothing in you 2600i is equal to a Ranger. Mazda and Ranger were completely different until 1994.

I guess that explains why I cant find any info on doing the swap. lol I'm going to do a lil research on diesel swaps though any info on that would be great.

Go here, sign up. These folks know one heck of a lot about the early B series (Mazda built) Mazda trucks and are very happy to help anyone with an interest in them.
