97 ranger heater core leaking again

hi im new to this forum..... need alittle advice.. i work at the local carquest and replaced my heater core in october of last year... old one looked frozen or something.... flushed the system out clean before hooking up the new core..used new anitfreeze and checked and was good to 30 below.. started it up yesterday and could smell the shit in the cab again... anyone have luck like this before???

You're not alone. If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all.

I've only had that problem with parts from Carquest.

I would check the heater hoses first, they can leak coolant into the cab, if one is spraying from bad hose clamp.
Heat core failure that fast is not likely, if heater hoses are tight I would pressure test the core before pulling the dash again.

I put a flow restrictor in the feed hose of mine to keep from busting them at high RPM's. If you rev yours up high, you may need one also.

Lines aren't leaking at all... Pressure tested the system
Yesterday at work and It blew a bigger hole in it.. Planned on replacing it this weekend and found a inline restrictor at work for it.. I will try that and hope for the best.. Which hose is the inlet side? And will a inline restrictor work or a vac style will be better??
