96 Ranger Lightning ?

Just joined The Ranger Station. I have a '94 2wd ext cab 2.3 5 spd 298k mi on orig engine that I've owned about 8 years that is my daily driver. The thing is indestructible and won't allow you to get speeding tickets either! I have been a Ford dealer line tech since aug,1984. Primarily work on super duty's since the power stroke came out in '94. I just purchased a '96 that is pretty much same truck as my '94. However this thing has what looks to be factory lightning decals/stripes from the front fenders to the tail lights. Like I said, I've been in 2 Ford dealers for about 37 years now and had never seen a 4 cyl ranger lightning. Anyone out there know if there is such a truck ,or did someone try to customize this little $300 jewel?

You can't tell us you found a lightning ranger and not share a picture... lets see it.

I don't believe they ever built one though.

I have a Lightning. What factory stripes from the front fenders to the tail lamps? There are no stripes on the 93 - 96 and definitely none on the 99 - 04.

Pic below, the paint and badges are like factory. The stripes on the lower doors, I put them there, they're not factory.
