Hey guys I have a 96 Ranger 4x4 auto. I commute with my truck everyday back and forth to school... I feel that the truck has a definate lack of power, it is always downshifting on minor hills. I have given the truck a tune up but noticed no real difference. There are no lights on but is it wirth hooking it up to a scanner. Does anyone have any suggestions about things to check out?

When did it last have a tune up?

I just put some seafoam in it. I will check the compression next. Thanks a lot

A few months or so ago. I pulled the plugs out again to see how its is running and they look perfect... Some people say that the 3.0 is just really underpowered and thats how it is. I like to keep stuff maintained properly and just wnt to see if thats really how they are.

how long have you had this truck?

It's perception. The truck was never designed to rage power. If I need some more acceleration I just down shift and step on the gas - gets me there fast enough.
