I have a 95 ranger with a 95 mustang GT 5.0, I found an AOD for cheap and put a shift kit in it, every thing on the motor and tranny install went great but the kickdown cable. The throttle body has a place where the cruize control was that the kickdown cable will hook on to. Does anyone know where I can find a bracket that will bolt to my mustang manifold and work with an AOD kickdown cable. Any insight would be helpful, thank you

Not entirely sure about the '95, but the '93 and earlier have the TV cable furthest from the throttle body, the throttle cable is next, closest to the throttle body, and the Cruise cable is actually on the OTHER side of the bracket, closest to the center of the motor. Hope that helps.

(I have my Cruise in the TV cable slot, as it was easiest for me)

I did some searching on the corral, and I see the '94/'95 had a different setup.

yeah i wish i would have got an aode, because that would have pluged right in to the mustang harness. but i have an aod from a 93 f150 and a 94-94 mustang throttle body, motor etc. so it currently has no where to a kickdown cable, just a place where the cruise control was was, has anybody ever hooked the kickdown cable to the gas pedal, iv'e heard of it but wouldn't know where to start.

I run a tv Cable from a 89 ish f-150 and aod bracket cable from the same f-150 hooked to my gas pedal, just use pliers and break the plastic end off the f150 cable then use a razor blade and slot the a4ld peddal gromet so it comes off the asld kickdown cable then just install that onto the f-150 cable and grind the slot off the f-150 adjuster so it fits where a4ld cable did in the firewall and hook to peddle.

Basically it mimmicks the a4ld cable but has enough throw in it to work the aod(a4ld has a shorter throw)

Ps 91 f150 was the first year for the aode and 90 was the last for the aod

I would run the TV cable where your cruise cable is.
Then rig the cruise with another bracket or zip ties or whatever will hold it solidly.
It's common to swap an older throttle body (with the bracket you need) onto '94/'95 Mustangs.
It may be possible to just use the Fox throttle cable bracket, I'm not sure how the sn95 5.0 is setup.

Iv'e called ford dealerships, ford racing techs, lokar techs, etc. none could help, I'll try hooking it to the old cruise control spot and see if I can mod the bracket to make it work right. If that doesnt work I have high hopes for the gas pedal mount plan, because it makes sense and its my last chance at making this work. I have an idea what alasken 155 is saying but a picture or two would help alot, thanks guys

I'm going to try hooking it to the gas pedal. So far it sounds like I bust the big plastic ajust. off the 150 aod cable, stick it in the old ranger throttle cable hole, then brace it in place and hook it to the pedal. If alaskan155 is reading this, you are the only one that i've talked to that has done this, so any more pointers would help lot, thanks guys

I am just finishing my '91 5.0 EFI Ranger. The donor car was a 90 Lincoln LSC. I have a Explorer upper and lower EGR elbow and throttle body. I am going to cut the tab from the LSC throttle body that the original tv cable was attached to. I will then weld it to the Explorer throttle body. I have ordered the Lokar KD-2AODHT cable. It's supposed to be cut to fit. I'll take plenty of pics.

Pete

Just the clip on the end of the f150 cable that ataches to the throttle body, the adjust stays on just have to grind the slot of the adjuster and it will fit in the firewall hole like stock and a zip tie or etc could also be use to atach it to the peddle, if a junk a4ld cable is un avalible, I'm at work know but might be able to get pictures tommarrow, that or search rps that's where I got the idea they have pictures and everything

i found a buyer for my aod and found an aode witch will plug right in to my harness forsale, thanks guys
