We ARE NOT Stuck, we just haven't figured out how to get out, yet.
Hello Ranger Bros,

I have a RWD 1995 Ford Ranger XLT Supercab with a 2.3 BANGER and bone stock suspension and stock diff (7.5 incher running 3.73s). I'm running 31x10.5R15s BFG KO2s on all 4 corners (no rub). I got her about 7 years ago with 125K and she probably well over 200K now (odometer broke about 6 months into driving her).

I have done timely fluid services, changed out sensors, replaced the spark plugs (difficulty is overrated), etc.

Now, it's time I start on the suspension. The plan is to change ALL the bushings, replace ball joints anything that needs replacing down there. This truck is my daily driver but I do off-road her on occasion up north at the Oceano Dunes (AIR DOWN) and some trails near Santa Maria. Plan to do some more off-roading/overlanding down in Baja in the future but nothing too crazy. I'd say she's probably a 90% road and 10% trail rig.

I'm going to start with a 1.5 inch leveling coil from Rough Country and some Bilstein shocks then move on to Radius Arm Bushings.

Can anyone vouch for Rough Country or a better coil or recommend something that I am not seeing? Pretty sure I have the OE spring installed with OE shocks lol!

I can only recommend Sky Jacker Softride or James Duff coils. They both feel really good on and off road.

Thanks Gaz! I just saw the Sky Jacker. Did it give you two inches of lift? Did you change from a stock height coil to an extended one?

I see that they only offer the 4WD coil, I'm sure that it would fit the 2WD for my 95. Did it work on yours or what?

In 2003-04 installed a 4" Sky jacker suspension lift on my 87 Bronco II that I pulled it from an Extra-cab 4.0L Ranger in a wrecking yard. I pulled the complete anti-sway, all the drop brackets, the drop pitman, front coils and the rear springs (they had an add-a-leaf with no block).

The front springs were sagging so I replaced them with new Sky Jacker Softride 4" coils. The front wound up a little higher than the rear, so shortly thereafter I grabbed a set of axles from a 94 Explorer with the complete rear packs and used leaves from both until it was at the height I wanted.

I had never liked the way this truck rode but after these were installed, it became my favorite truck suspension. They provide a solid 4" are variable rate coils and just work great.

Thank you so much for your recs. I ended up going with the Skyjacker 132X leveling coil and M95 shocks on all four corners. All I can say is WOW. The ride quality improved drastically and I got approximately 2.5 inches of lift in the front. In fact, the front may be a hair higher than the rear of my Ranger. I think I will be going with the Deaver F31 rear spring in the future but we shall see!

Are those on the stock 6" rims?

Apparently they're second to none in the leaf-spring department. They make a full on pre-runner leaf pack and then a mild-moderate leaf pack code F31.
