95 4.0 with newer EVAP

As a couple people may have seen from my other posts I'm working on transferring over my drivetrain and sheet metal from my 95 to an 01 frame and axles. I'm not quite there yet but trying to see if its possible or if I'm better off transferring the old EVAP stuff as well. Does anyone know if someone has adding the newer EVAP system to and older truck? from the basic looks of it the layout would definitely be a more clean look in the engine bay since the canister is above the spare tire carrier and the feed lines run down the frame. I know I'm going to have to change out at least my sending unit and fuel lines so I was hoping i could leave some of the newer stuff to keep the truck clean and as modern as I can. Anyone seen it done or have any helpful insight?

Are they not both just a cannister connected to tank and a purge valve connected to vacumm?

I would assume so. The 95 has it attached to the driver side inner fender in the engine compartment and the 01 is on the spare tire carrier. Then the fuel sending unit appears different between the 2 as well. I could probably sort it out eventually after looking at the wiring, vacuum and fuel line diagrams but was hoping someone had tinkered with it before.

the modern setup has quite a bit more complication. keep the system matched to the engine and operating system.
