94 Ranger Push button Start

It is not illegal. (Where I am from anyway) **This is about rewireing a personal ignition on an owned vehicle. I am wondering if anyone has installed a push button start on the Ranger. I have seen it on a few cars but never a Ranger.

I was looking for the conventional solid red power wires and brown starter wire(s) but I could not find them at the column harness. When I looked at my haynes manal wireing diagram for the 2.3L, I could not pick out the power or starter wires. On top of that I could not match any of the wires refered to on the diagram to the actual wires on the column harness.

Does any one have any experience or tips.

Given that I will be doing a way with the keyed ignition, I will need to manually free the steeering column lock. Has anyone done this with out taking apart the column ie drilling the spring for the lock.

Why are you wantin to do this?

YES, I've done it on 2 Rangers so far, but I'm not gonna post how I did it or how mines done, as I did mine as a "theft deterant".

I will tell you that I didn't use or connect to any of the original wirin.....

um, there is a guy on here who has done it, i forgot his name, i know he was a totm winner a while back, and it looks pretty legit. it should'nt be too hard.
