Ok this is my first real post. I have a 95 supercab 4x4. I have seen the sport trac upgrade for 2wd but haven't found anything for the 4x4. Would sport trac 4wd brakes be a direct swap like the 2wd. Has anyone done this or some other front brake upgrade?

Being a '95 you should already have the good brakes (well, best the factory offered) for those years. 93/94 still had the stupid wedge things, but 95-97 got dual piston calipers that rode on more conventional pins.

As far as other upgrades, I'm not personally sure.

Yea really lookn for bigger than stock. Plan on doing mustang swap on rear soon and was hoping to upgrade the front. With 20s and 35s stock brakes aren't that great

You might look into the dual-piston parts from an F-150. Of course you'll have a different lug pattern up front....

Cwhite1984:

You can do an upgrade to '04+ Ranger/Sport Trac brakes: Takes you from 11.26" rotors to 12" and from 46mm pistons to 48mm pistons. Improves front braking by ~10%.

The Mustang rear disc brakes are significantly worse than stock brakes for performance (but have bling/ease of maintenance). Best rear brakes are the '10-11 Ranger discs - larger in diameter than Mustang Cobras; Vented, and the Ranger calipers apply almost double the force of Mustang ones (48^2 versus 38^2).

I've though about doing a set of adapters to put Mustang Cobra Front Rotors (13")/F-150 Calipers in, but they would require 17"+ wheels and the 31x10.5R15s under the truck are too good to throw away...

I was reading the tech article on this too....

Don,

Any clue where I figure out the info for my 99 4wd
