92 ranger cab to 86 ranger 4wd frame swap

I hope i put this is the right place if not feel free to move it.

Ok my question today is will a 92 ranger std cab fit on a 86 std cab frame?

I'm picking up a cheap 86 ranger with 4wd and 5 speed trans, I want to swap my good 92 cab onto the 86 frame is this possible? Are there any differences in the frames, cab mounts and such? Has anyone done this kind of swap before?

I'd figure they're about the same. I've driving an 85 ext swapped onto a long bed frame. If anything just relocate a body mount.

The body mount's on all 1983 to 1992 rangers are the same, ofcourse aslong as your doing the same body configuration (IE std cab to std cab, extra cab to extra cab),

where the issue may arise, is if both the trucks have the same engine's or not, the main issue is if one truck is carbed and the body of the other is EFI or wise versa, although you still can swap the wiring harness over or just swap the engine that matches the body to your 86 frame
