Ive had the truck for over a year and drive it everyday and it has done this since I got it but now that its really hot outside it seems to do this really really bad and will even kill itself unless you give it throttle.

anyways this is what it does.

After driving and getting the engine warm and then shutting engine off and letting it sit for atleast 8 to 10 minutes...... when I go to restart it, it will miss VERY VERY bad and sputter and even die sometimes. I have to rev the engine up and after about 30 seconds or so it clears up and runs fine.

If I let it sit for over 30 to 45 minutes it doesnt do this at all and if I shut it off for less than about 8 to 10 minutes it doesnt do it at all.

Also in the winter it doesnt seem to do this ever..... at all

Are you by chance using gas with 10% Ethanol? I'm wondering if maybe the gas is boiling like it did when too much heat made it up through the carb or fuel line. With a higher Ethanol content it might boil easier. Just a thought...

were I live you can only get gas with "up to 10% ethanol"
The hotter it gets the worse this gets! This is very annoying and it makes my truck sounds like a peice of shit when im in a parking lot and crank it up if I wasnt in the store very long. It sounds like its running on 2 cylinders when it does this... then slooooowly it will start smoothing out and eventualy fire on all 6 smooth.

Are you getting any codes? Have you checked for lack of spark when this happens?

no I havent checked anything while its happening The engine bay is so cluttered on these trucks I would burn my arms off if i tried working on it while it was heat soaked.. The Check Engine Light doesnt come on so im assuming no codes?
My wifes sunfire used to do this and it was the injectors... or atleast 1 or 2 of them.
But hers would blow black smoke while it was doing it.. mine doesnt.

Try cleaning your MAF...
SVT

Already cleaned that. It does have Jb weld on it were it looks like someone has repaired a crack or hole in it or something though.

did you ever find out the problem? My 96 does the EXACT same thing...frustrating. Im always getting stuck weird places....
