I have a 91 explorer sport - Mazda navajo , I Bought a used BII trans from a 2.9 and I Cannot find out the wiring on the Solenoid , My wiring is 3 wire the bII is 2 , Anybody done this swap chime in ? , Also First time poster , Long time Lurker haha !

Well Hoping someone would have seen this by now , I Can Find out what wires mine are , But not sure on the BII trans , If anybody Has Any A4ld Info Please Throw it at me haha

Well A Friend on the Explorer4x4.com Hooked me up with the Right info , I need to use the P/Y wire and Red 12v+ Wire !

Well I connected the tcc wire and the Red 12v+ wire and Still no Overdrive , Drove it around town after I took the ole lady to work and It did not shift into OD

Well I Now Know why I have No Overdrive , This Transmission Is older than a 89 , With it being a 2 Wire One Solenoid Trans It will Not Go into Overdrive Ever in my Navajo .

I'm glad that you have been updating your thread, hopefully it will help someone in the future. Rep for you.

Richard

Thanks For the Rep AlwaysFLOorRed And No problem , I plan to Get the Correct 93-94 Year model A4ld trans And more than Likely doing The Transgo Shift kit And Adding In a External Fluid Filter , I am Already using 2 Stock 4x4 Explorer - Navajo Fluid Coolers In Series On my Navajo and There only warm to the Touch after Driving around for 15-30 mins , Unlike before with a Single Stock Fluid Cooler It would Be too Hot to keep your hand on For the same amount of drive time ! .

I never knew this... I know for a fact that the stock 88 trans I have and the 93 explorer trans (from my 4.0 donor) have the same trans with 2 solenoids with 2 wires on the valve body. :icon_confused:

there are a few differences between the 2 tho... mostly the number of steels and frictions in the clutch packs.

The change started late in 88
