Got a 302 from a 88 f150.stock compression ratio was told is 9.0.1
Just wondering how much can be shaved off e7 heads and what the compression ratio would be.
Motor has the stock pistons and cam will be a .480-.512 lift.so dont want no piston to valve clearance issues.

I have a 306 with "stockish" Flat Top Pistons, 1604 compression distance which is OEM. My ported GT40P heads have .004 milled off and I run a Comp cam with 512 lift. The compression ratio should be around 9.15-9.25 I would think with 58 cc. Plenty of room with 1.6 rockers. I checked PTV myself with clay.

Do have flattops or do you have valve reliefs in the pistons?

With virgin E7 heads and block with a HO cam andstock rockers with factory flattops I am right at the limit I found somewhere online for valve clearance, about .125.

And I used play-doh. :icon_twisted:

I'm the same minus I have e6. I didn't clay but was told by a few I would be fine. At 5k I haven't had any issues, but rarely do I take it to that, best anymore is 3k.

Would a comp magnum 280h cam be good with stock e7 (not shaved)
