I need to know if my ford ranger's fuel tank is a mid tank or aft axle tank installation. I need to buy a new oem fuel pump. Truck is located in Virginia and I'm in Texas so I can not look and see which type installation my truck has. I hope someone can help me. Many thanks.

If you don't have dual tanks then it is mid-ship. If you have dual tanks it could be either, and you need to know which tank you are dealing with before you can know which tank you are dealing with.

If the trck only has one factory tank, it will be a mid tank. As far as I know, on Gen1 rangers, rear tanks were only used on dual-tank setups and Bronco IIs (different tanks used on BIIs.)

I know that you don't have your ranger handy to look at, but dollars to donuts, if you have a picture of it, the filler flap will be at the front of the box, not the rear...
