:icon_confused: It wont pass and i dont know why it says there was a missfire the first time. But it was just a plugwire and i fixed it but it still wont pass and says misfire.help me please.:annoyed:

Maybe you have a misfire. Did you check all your plugs and wires? Dont forget to check both ends of the wires..

I'd check the plugs. I know they may be new, but I've bought brand new plugs before and they were already shot. Try replacing the plug in the cylinder that it's throwing the misfire.

you may want to reset the computer and drive it for (i think) 20 cycles to kill the DTC that is stored in the computer. Just disconnect the battery for 1/2 hour then go drive it looking for the dreaded SES light.

If your positive ont the plugs/wires and cap/rotor the first thing would be a compression test and look for vacuum leaks you can run the codes but that wont matter if you have low compression you need to determine the health of the engine first changing electrical will do nothing for a engine that needs rebuilt. I would run some seafoam through it then do a compression test if your cylinders are within 5 to 10 %max you have elecrtical issues. while it is running take a long screwdriver and put it on the injectors and your ear on the handle and see if they all are firing the same. Find the misfiring plug and see if it smells like fuel after running a bit.

Thanks guys for the info. I was thinkin that a compression test would be next.

Hopefully your good mechanically but if not better to find out now rather than replacing possible good parts. Getting to know the beast is allways a good thing.

I am and i cant afford to replace parts i dont need to.lol But my grandpa is goin to be helpin as much as he can.

Just a guess, but I'm willing to bet it's fuel related. Doing a compression test never hurts though. Does it feel like it's missing a cylinder? Every time I've had a missing cylinder, it's been pretty obvious. If your cylinder misses just once or twice, it will throw the code.

Point being, if it feels healthy most of the time like it's not missing, than it's probably fuel. Dirty injector maybe? A fuel injector could be firing (making the tick), but too clogged to consistently deliver adequate fuel.
