2.3L ('83-'97) 84 Ranger Stalling?

So im working on this 84 ranger will only run for about 5 minutes then stall. Not like sputter out slowly just total loss of power completely. Isn’t worth driving around the block because you might not make it around the block. This happens when driving or idling with no warning. Ounce it stalls, It won’t start unless you wait about on hour. The MCU was bypassed and possibly some of the vacuum hooses as well. Is there any egr stuff that could cut power like that in the carb?

I checked to see if there was fuel in the bowl after it stalled and it did. Just in case the float was getting stuck. Brand new oem carb and clean fuel filter.
