I have an 84 2wd Ranger that I'm putting drop beams in. I had a friend help me pull it apart and there was this one spacer that he said was under the lower spring seat and he can't figure out which side this part came out of. Is this part even needed or is there supposed to be two, one on each side?

Thanks for the help,
Bob

Do you have a pic of it?

There is a plastic thing that goes between the spring an beams (on my 4x4 anyway) so the spring isn't shifting around on the steel beam to wear and make noise.

coil spring isolator??

i have an 84 thats been sitting for a while and i need the lower seats replaced also i think i have found them but not sure, i found this https://www.autozone.com/suspension...gy-suspension-coil-spring-isolator/705288_0_0

It seams like there is a lower seat and a spacer, cannot tell if this is for upper or lower part of coil

all are called isolators... that i have found.

going to rebuild front end unless i scrap up the money for bronco axle swap from the junkyard. front and rear

cant post photos yet or i would show my coil with bend and blown out seats

My 87 Bronco II 4x4 had a large washer about 1/8" thick under the passenger side spring seat. I figured it was installed at the factory for alignment reasons.
I lifted the truck and so i used adjustible bushings and left the washer out.

There is a good illustration on page 42 of the LMC truck Ford ranger online catalog.

Yes, thank you! :icon_thumby:

only on the passenger side or both sides? this truck was lifted and has been sitting, pretty much all the bushings need replaced. i am also not sure what they used since its not stock.

yeah i would like to keep it factory, going after this weekend as long as it doesn't rain.
