Nice limited slip

ya i got it for $125 its a aubern gear posi. i couldnt pass up the deal and this lets me save up cash for a aubern gear posi/locker combo.

limited slip in the rear, locked up front... actually makes for a great DD/WW build. that was my plan till i found an Aussie on here super cheap.

Both are "full lockers"

I think you mean something else :icon_confused:

yeah, ones just auto and ones selectable.
if you got the dime, get a selectable. personally, idk if i'll ever be able to swing that money for a locker FOR THIS RIG. maybe a full on trail rig. later.

i meant like a posi/locker where its a posi full time untill u press a button and it turns into a locker like a air locker or Electric locker. the full locker i meant like a lunchbox or detroit locker.

full locker.

reason i want it is this....
AUBURN GEAR ECTED POSITRACTION AND LOCKER FOR A FORD 8.8 INDEPENDANT REAR AXLE WITH 31 SPLINE AXLES.

THE AUBURN GEAR ECTED IS A ELECTRICALLY OPERATED LIMITED SLIP POSI/LOCKER COMBINATION.

WHEN THE UNIT IS DISENGAGED IT IS CONE/CLUTCH OPPERATED LIMITED SLIP.

WITH A PUSH OF A BUTTON IT BECOMES A FULL LOCKER WITH FULL POWER BEING GIVEN TO BOTH TIRES.

and how this one works.....
(INFO FROM AUBURN TECH SHEET)When “off”, the clutch pack (see #7) located behind the side gear provides the limited slip mode. The side gear separating forces increases as torque increases to the axle; the clutch pack which is coupled to the side gear (see #6) and differential case (#10) is compressed providing the limited slip mode. There are 13 clutching surfaces — so this is considered a “performance” limited slip differential.

When “on” five amps of current is sent to the electromagnetic coil (#8). The coil then initiates the magnetic circuit and pulls the pilot clutch (#1) into engagement with the differential case (#10). This frictional resistance between the pilot clutch and differential case forces the balls (#2) to ride up a ramp machined into the backside of the side gear (#3). The radial travel of these balls also triggers lateral movement of the side gear into engagement with the center block (#4). The center block transmits the force to the opposite side gear (#6) and the side gear compresses the clutch pack (#7), which provides the full locker/spool mode.

btw, the auburn you listed is for the IRS 8.8... not the solid 8.8

The ected locker is notorious for failing under moderate use. Your best bet is an e locker, the electrac, or arb.....

i know but i want one just like it. i want that option when i am at the sand dunes driving up test hill. i can do it in 2wd now but its hard on it at the top.
