Okay so I found this combo in working condition for really cheap....so he says it had a 400 in it. .1 what bell housing pattern would that be and .2 if that isn't the correct one for a 302 is it possible to swap the bellhousing from a small block trans? All I will need to complete is a 302 setup from the wrecking yard.

It's going to have the big block bell on it (351M, 400, 370, 429, 460) All you need to do is swap to a small block bell.

Dont think its the same bell. I've got a 302 aluminum bell, its yours if you came get it.

Btw i'll be in lincoln this weekend. If you make the drive, its free. I could meet you in bloomington for about $20 in fuel costs

What are.you asking for the bell? I might be able to.pick.on up.from the wrecking yard as well. Would that be a both warner t19? I figure that combo would hold up good behind a small block in a little ranger.

Its free as far as i'm concerned. Just fuel cost if i gotta drive it anywhere. Snap a pic of the tranny you have, could be the borg warner t-18 or more than likely a np435. They're both fairly indestructable, the 435 has a tad deeper gears.

Hmm okay. Let me see how far is is and how much the are wrecking yard wants and see what fuel oat would be. Would that bell bolt up to that trans? Since its from a car trans and not the truck trans?

The bell came from an f250, it'll bolt to the bw and the np.

If you end up wanting it just pm me and we'll work out the details

okay sounds cool. The 5.0 shares the 4.6 bell as well doesnt it?

The old standby pushrod one that most everybody uses for swaps doesn't share much of anything with a 4.6. It is the same as the 4.2 V6 though.

The new DOHC 5.0 is probably the same as a 4.6 though... not likely for a RBV swap though.

The 302, 351w, and 300 share the same bell. You'll find them by the dozen at the jy.

The only reason Im asking is because I have found 3 4.6s with ECU and harness for cheaper then I can find a 5.0 f.i without any wiring. I am really not wanting anything to do with the 4.6 but I was just wondering in case.

My only bet as of now is 5.0 out of 91 grand marquis which sounds like its going to be a grandma tune engine. Ill need to find an ecu and get the auto programming flashed off it.
