hey guys do any of you know the part number for the conversion u joint to use the 8.8 flange on the original driveshaft from an 88' ranger? there arent any driveshaft plaves local to get a new flange so the conversion joint would be easiest for me..thanks guys!

I have read that tech article and was still confused a little. if i am reading things right then the small ujoint that came from the 7.5 was a 1310 and the larger one from the 8.8 flange is a 1330..is this correct? meaning i would need a:

1310 to 1330 = Spicer 5-134X

is that right guys?

Can't see from here, got a calipher or some way to measure to see just what you have or need? I know some have all the info stored away somewhere in their brain matter but too many combonations for me.

i threw away the old ujoints when i took them out not thinking..does anyone know from experience if this is the right conversion joint i need? and if not which one i do need.

From my searching that is the corect conversion u-joint, but you may want to look into a 1 piece driveline swap it will use the larger 1330 joints and will be stronger in the long run.

and there are different flange sizes for the rear axle, the later ones all accept the bigger joints, It might be more cost effective to swap to the later driveshaft.

Hmmm... my 87 ranger 7.5 axle uses a 1210 which is 3/4" smaller than a 1310. So I have this spare/new spicer 1310-1330 conversion just sitting around. I said F' it and ordered a 2.5 inch 1330 rear Flange Yoke.

I say just measure your flange yoke retaining-clip-to-retaining-clip distance. I sure wish I had BEFORE ordering the Spicer.
